Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells says he’s excited to see the impact returning import power forward Montrezl Harrell has in Saturday’s home game against New Zealand.
Harrell has missed the past three matches due to suspension, but Wells said the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year is back and ready to go.
“When you add in players with that much gravity and can score the basketball, they are welcome additions to the group,” Wells said this week.

“We are regenerating the group again, Trez has been here all week, and we have been putting together how we want to function on offense and defense.
“You are always going to miss guys who can score 20 points when they walk on the court.”
Wells said he expects Harrell to make an instant difference, much like Kendric Davis did with a team-high 37 points and 11 assists last Sunday against Perth Wildcats
“Trez is a big part to what we do, and so too is KD, you saw an immediate impact there last week,” Wells said.
“There is going to be a different impact again with Trez coming back.”
Even with his two main scorers now back in the line-up, Wells said he won’t forget how much influence the bench made during the past three matches.
“The silver lining is the bench players minutes and how we have benefited from that, expanding their roles,” Wells said.
“Those things (players missing) do impact the other guys, on both sides of the ball.
“Whether they are starting, or coming off the bench, who you are on the floor with.
“What we have found out though, is all the young guys have shown they have the ability to play at this level.”
