Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells was proud of how his side stayed in the fight despite the 102-83 loss to Brisbane Bullets on Friday night.
The 36ers were playing catch-up all night after giving up an early 12-2 lead, Wells said his side responded to get back into the game on numerous times.
“Nothing but positives, you want to have a different result, but our young guys were put into a tough situation,” Wells said.

“I thought they stayed in the fight, it was six, it was 12, we had a couple of hot hands get going, so you got to counter and make some adjustments.
“I thought we played downhill, we tried to play fast, we tried to put pressure on the rim.”
Adelaide were missing suspended import duo Kendric Davis and Montrezl Harrell, and captain DJ Vasiljevic, Wells said his side tried hard to adapt on both ends of the court.
“You’re missing your three primary offensive people, there was 60 points out of the line-up,” Wells said.
“We were trying to manufacture the offense in a little bit of a different way.
“But super proud of the young guys.”
Wells said swingman Nick Marshall had an impact at both ends of the court.
“He brings a different dynamic to our team as he can play on ball and off ball," Wells said.
“He’s athletic, he can get downhill and I thought he really tried to compete and did some things.
“He fought the whole night.”
