Wells lauds Davis effort in comeback game

Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells says the way import point guard Kendric Davis returned to his side on Sunday was nothing short of ‘remarkable’.
Davis played his first game since November 17 and led from the front for Adelaide, scoring a team-high 37 points to go with 11 assists.
It was the second straight game Davis has posted a 30-point, 10-assist double and he is the only Adelaide player to have completed this feat since Julius Hodge in 2009.
Wells had nothing but praise for his point guard, he did almost everything to guide his team to victory, but Adelaide fell to Perth Wildcats 115-105 in front of 9352 people.

“He is a tremendous athlete, he is in tremendous shape,” Wells said post-match.
“Three weeks off of basketball, there is nothing like basketball conditioning, you can not replicate anything but by playing in a game.
“What he did was really remarkable for the minutes and the points, guarding Cotton and trying to do all the things that he does."
Wells said Davis will only get better and his side will regroup this week and welcome back Montrezl Harrell for next Saturday night’s match against New Zealand Breakers.
“I’ve seen a lot of him from back in the States, I saw a lot of him in the G-League last year.” Wells said.
“You know the talent, but you never know how it’s going to translate to the NBL.
“His quickness and his strength are just that little bit different, so I’m super happy for him.
“He loves to play basketball, it’s what he does, he love to get out there and compete.
“You knew we were going to get his best effort tonight.”
