Vasiljevic stars as Boomers win in Bangkok

Adelaide 36ers captain DJ Vasiljevic was one of the key components of Australia’s comprehensive win against Thailand in Bangkok on Thursday night.
Vasiljevic scored 14 points to go with four assists and three rebounds as the Boomers stormed away from the hosts with a dominant second quarter performance in a 101-48 victory.
Thailand came out inspired to perform in front of their excited fans too and by the time Attapong Leelaphipatkul knocked down a three-pointer, Thailand were leading 22-15 just before quarter-time.
The Boomers scored the last five points including a buzzer beater to close the deficit to two and then the second period started in the same way with Australia catching fire from long range.

After scores were tied at 27-27, the Boomers blew the game wide open with the game's next 19 points to take a 50-31 lead into the main break.
Vasiljevic got in on the three-point fun with a two of his own during the third quarter as Australia led 73-40 going into the final 10 minutes.
The Boomers were dominant on the boards, outrebounding Thailand 50-35, forcing the hosts unto 22 turnovers and scoring 33 points off of those turnovers, while finishing the game with 25 fast break points to three.
The Boomers will in action again on Sunday against Korea in Goyang.
