DJ Vasiljevic to play for Forestville Eagles in 2025 NBL1 Central season

Adelaide 36ers captain DJ Vasiljevic will remain in South Australia this off-season after signing with NBL1 club Forestville Eagles.

Vasiljevic, who signed a three-year deal with Adelaide at the end of the NBL24 season, said the decision to stay ‘home’ was an easy one.

“I’m South Australian now, I’ve moved my entire life here and it made sense to play here in the off-season,” Vasiljevic said.

“I’ve got a lot of commitments in the off-season, including all the build up to the Boomers Asia Cup campaign, so it’s good to stay at home.”

The 190cm shooting guard averaged 17.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in his first season as 36ers captain in NBL25, including a match-winning seven three-pointers in the club's first finals victory in seven years.

Vasiljevic, who played for Waverley Falcons in NBL1 South last season, will join the reigning NBL1 Central men’s champions who have assembled a star-studded line-up for the 2025 campaign.

The Eagles already boast 36ers legend Daniel Johnson, 2024 NBL1 Central grand final MVP Greg Mays, Adelaide development player Fiston Ipassou and former 36ers Alex Starling and Adam Doyle.

“It’s going to be fun team to play for that’s for sure,” Vasiljevic said.

The 2025 NBL1 Central season tips off on Saturday, March 29.
