'Time to get ready for the main season': Bruton

After winning the past two Loggins-Bruton Cups as NBL Blitz champions, Adelaide 36ers head coach CJ Bruton says the focus for this year’s tournament will be very different.
Adelaide is searching for a three-peat of NBL Blitz titles, but Bruton has put more emphasis on growth and structure for the week-long event on the Gold Coast.
“We have won the last two at the Blitz, but no one really remembers who won in the pre-season do they,” Bruton said.
“The focus this year is to go up to the Gold Coast and focus on us, what we do and to do that a high level.”

The 36ers wil be looking to rebound from last week’s 103-78 pre-season loss to Brisbane Bullets and Bruton is confident his team will respond in Sunday afternoon’s NBL Blitz opener against New Zealand.
“We have cleaned a few issues up this week on the practice court,” Bruton said.
“Ultimately it all comes down to the start of the season, people see the games in the pre-season and the results, but you need to continue to grow.
“It’s pre-season, we have been great in the pre-season in past years, but it doesn’t guarantee you success in the main season.”
