The Adelaide 36ers are pleased to announce the signing of Anthony Drmic for NBL23 with a mutual option for NBL24.

The 30-year-old, 198cm forward re-joins the Sixers after two seasons with the Brisbane Bullets, where he averaged 7.46 points, 1.88 assists, 3.27 rebounds, and 42% field goals during the 2021-22 season.

Drmic is looking forward to starting a new chapter in Adelaide.

“There are a couple of guys over there that I already know, and the club is familiar. I like what CJ has been doing and I’m excited to get back to Adelaide, meet the new faces, and to get ready for NBL23”, Drmic said.

Drmic originally signed with the Adelaide 36ers in 2016 and went on to play 27 games in his first year with the club, averaging 5.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and connected 45.2% of his field goal attempts. He led all rookies across the league in both scoring and rebounding and was the recipient of the 2017 NBL Rookie of the Year Award. Drmic has played 174 games in total throughout his NBL career.

Currently, he is representing the North Side Wizards in the NBL1 and averaging an impressive 32.5 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 55.81% of field goal attempts in the four games played so far.

Head Coach CJ Bruton has high hopes for the versatile forward.

“Anthony always brings the energy both on and off the court. I am very happy to see him back at this club and can’t wait to see what he brings; his leadership and guidance will be important for our team”, Bruton said.

Anthony Drmic joins Mitch McCarron, Daniel Johnson, Sunday Dech, Kai Sotto, Hyrum Harris, and Nick Marshall on the 36ers roster for the 2022-23 season, with further basketball department and player announcements to come.
