Adelaide 36ers are thrilled to announce a partnership with Saab Australia to commemorate Remembrance Day at our home game on Saturday, November 11 this season.
With the NBL24 schedule handing the 36ers a home fixture on Remembrance Day, the club was grateful at the opportunity to be able to incorporate an Australian Defence Force appreciation game to honour past and present servicemen and women on this special occasion.
Adelaide 36ers CEO Nic Barbato said to have Saab come on board to support such a special night is a great partnership for the club.
“When we saw the fixture, we knew we had to honour Remembrance Day and with Saab coming on board this home game will be fantastic recognition,” Barbato said.
Saab is a defence industry leader with 35 years’ experience delivering capabilities for the Australian Defence Force in the development, integration, production, and support of advanced operational systems, mainly for defence, but also civil security applications.
Saab was recently recognised as Large Employer of the Year at the Prime Minister’s Veterans Employment Awards.
Saab Australia Managing Director, Andy Keough CSC, said the ADF appreciation round would provide an opportunity to honour current and former service personnel.
“For more than 100 years Australians have served around the world and made incredible sacrifices to protect our nation, values and interests,” Keough said.
“This is a great opportunity for the South Australian community to show their support and appreciation for our past and present servicemen and women.”

On game night, an official pre-game ceremony, including the ode, minute silence, bugler and national anthem will be performed, along with a display in the Orb foyer of Army and Navy vehicles, Defence Force recruiting and performances by the Army band including a half time performance on the Single Fin Surf Deck.
