Adelaide 36ers are excited to announce the signing of local product Lat Mayen on a one-year deal for the NBL25 season.
Mayen, a 206cm forward returns home after starting his NBL career at Cairns Taipans, where he averaged 5.4 points and 3.0 rebounds across 43 games.
The Sturt Sabres junior was a member of the BA Centre of Excellence for two years before a four-year US college career, finishing at Nebraska in 2022.
Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis is thrilled to have Mayen return to his home state and said the athletic forward brings several attributes to his roster.
“I have always said I like to have that local flavour at the 36ers, and it’s exciting to have another South Australian now on the roster,” Ninnis said.
“Lat has shown in Cairns he can play multiple roles and his ability to play at both ends of the floor is going to be a great benefit for us moving forward.”
GM of Basketball Operations Matt Weston said to bring Mayen back to South Australia was a great result for the club.
“We see Lat playing a significant role for us next season, he has that toughness about him that we like,” Weston said.
