Adelaide 36ers import swingman Trey Kell is excited for what the NBL24 season can bring to his game and his new club.
Kell arrived in Adelaide on Friday and is ready to build on his NBL23 campaign and prove to the league he can take his game to the next level.
“It’s always nice to get here, you get a good boost of energy when you arrive in a new place,” Kell said.
“I’m very excited to get started, I have heard a lot of good things about the club and the city.
“This reminds a lot of the US, being from San Diego, it’s close to the beach, it’s laid back, very laid back, I’m a chilled kind of person, so this suits my personality.”
The 27-year-old said 36ers fans will know what he can do for his new side and appreciates the eagerness for success.
“I don’t feel too much pressure, it’s a new season and I’m here for a reason, the club know what I am capable of and I’m confident I can perform to those expectations,” Kell said.
“My expectations are just as high as anyone else, so I don’t feel any added pressure.”

The 193cm swingman, who spent last season playing at South East Melbourne Phoenix, said he chose Adelaide for the complete work-life balance of being a professional athlete.
“There were definitely some other teams in Europe I looked at, a few places around the world, but I was in Melbourne last year and I really enjoyed Australia and life outside of basketball,” Kell said.
“I need to bring that fun attitude, I always want to enjoy my time on the floor, get along with all the guys really well.”
Kell has been known as a sharpshooter from beyond the three-point line during his six-year professional career which has had stops in Bosnia, Canada, Hong Kong, Poland and Italy.
“That is something I can do, but I think I am a complete player and do a lot of different things for the team, but I’m more than just a shooter,” Kell said.
