“We all want to be better, but we have had a taste of it now, we have got a core group that we can lean on and come back together and figure out how we do even better next year.”

Adelaide 36ers star centre Isaac Humphries said the club achieved huge success in NBL25 and is using the finals defeat to spark the new campaign.

Humphries said despite being eliminated by South East Melbourne from a potential semi-final series, he was thrilled to be in the team which ended the club’s finals drought of seven years was a big accomplishment.

“Just because we didn’t win the championship, which we all wanted to for sure, we still achieved something we haven’t in a really long time,” Humphries said.

“It was an interesting year and we came together and got stuff done.

“It’s a high-pressure environment and I think we did some very good things in that environment.”

The 36ers stormed back into the playoffs after falling to a 7-11 record at Christmas time to win a finals game against the Kings in Sydney.

Humphries said the loss to the Phoenix has been tough to comprehend but the result has already sparked life into the build up to NBL26.

“There has been a healing process for a lot of us. We have stayed together, and yes it was a tough end to the year,” Humphries said.

“But we achieved playoffs, we haven’t done that for seven years.

“We all want to be better, we have had a taste of it now, we have got a core group that we can lean on and come back together and figure out how we do even better next year.”

The 212cm centre has now turned to the stage in preparation for his Fringe show More Of Me from March 12-15.

Humphries said the idea of this year’s show came from the feedback from his audience after Unearthed sold out in 2024.

“Last year my show Unearthed was very in-depth, very personal and I just didn’t know where to go or where to top that,” Humphries said.

“I was trying to write a theme, so I thought ‘what was everyone telling me’ and I kept hearing this common theme of more.

“More originals, more songs, more stories, more shows.

“So, I thought I’d stop thinking and give everyone what they wanted, which is ‘More of Me’.”
