Galloway comes up big in late Force charge

Adelaide 36ers power forward Kyrin Galloway was back in action for Ipswich last Saturday night as the Force made a comeback for the ages.

Ipswich were staring at a second defeat in-a-row on their home court as the visiting Darwin Salties held a 101-89 lead with just under four minutes to play.

Enter Galloway, who made a jump shot, connected on a big three-pointer and then hauled down a massive rebound to give Ipswich the chance to win the game late and the Force comeback was complete, storming home to win 106-105.

Galloway pulled down 10 rebounds to go with eight points and four assists as Ipswich now go two games clear of Cairns Marlins in third place on NBL1 North standings.

The Force are in Brisbane this Saturday night for a clash against the Capitals at Auchenflower Stadium.

On the Gold Coast, Jason Cadee was stuffing the stat sheet again, this time the 186cm point guard poured in 32 points to go with nine assists and five rebounds as the Rollers cruised past North Gold Coast Seahawks 115-88.

The Rollers, who sit on top of the standings with a 15-2 record, travel to play Red City Roar this Saturday night at the Paul Bancroft Centre.

Mount Gambier Pioneers are on a roll in NBL1 South with Nick Marshall back to his game breaking best.

Marshall scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished five assists and collected three steals as the Pioneers used a dominant opening half to defeat Bendigo Braves 94-65 at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre on Friday night.

Just under 48 hours later, the Pioneers were back on their home court and defeated Dandenong Rangers 90-71 to jump up to second position on the standings.

Marshall again was everywhere against the Rangers, scoring a game-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Mount Gambier face a huge double header in Tasmania this weekend, starting with a clash against Hobart Chargers on Friday night, before backing up against North West Tasmania on Saturday night.

Sturt Sabres remain will and truly in the hunt for a double chance in the NBL1 Central playoff race with Keanu Rasmussen leading the charge.

The NBL24 Development Player scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished three assists and collected two steals as the Sabres easily accounted for Southern Tigers 110-54 at Springbank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

But Rasmussen's game was cut short early in the third quarter when he was helped to the bench with a right ankle injury.

Now with a 10-5 record, the Sabres face a double header this weekend against Central District Lions at home on Saturday night, before a trip to St Clair on Sunday afternoon for a showdown with Woodville Warriors.

Mitch McCarron came up big in crunch time as his West Adelaide Bearcats stormed home to defeat Forestville Eagles 82-78 at Wayville Sports Centre on Saturday night.

The 189cm combo guard connected on a huge three-pointer late in the final quarter as the Bearcats outscored the Eagles 24-11 in the final 10 minutes to now go one game clear on top of the NBL1 Central standings.

McCarron again played the full 40 minutes and finished the night with 21 points, eight rebounds, five steals, four assists and a block.

West Adelaide will play a double header this weekend, the Bearcats host Eastern Mavericks at Port Adelaide Recreation Centre on Saturday night before travelling to Starplex on Sunday afternoon to face Central District Lions.

Alex Starling produced a huge game as an undermanned South Adelaide Panthers kept their double chance hopes alive with a thrilling 85-83 win against North Adelaide Rockets at The Lights Community Centre on Saturday night.

Starling poured in 23 points, hauled down a game-high 17 rebounds, collected six steals and dished three assists as the Panthers held on to survive a late Rockets revival.

South Adelaide is back in action on Thursday night when the Panthers travel to Morphett Vale to play Southern Tigers before backing up at home on Saturday night against Norwood Flames.
