DJ stakes claim in big Boomers win

Adelaide 36ers star guard DJ Vasiljevic saw second half action in the Boomers’ 107-87 win against China in the first game of the Ballin24 Series at John Cain Arena on Tuesday night.
After a slow start, which saw China lead 32-25 at quarter time, the Boomers responded to take a three-point lead into the main break.
Boomers coach Brian Goorjian then inserted Vasiljevic into the fray during the third quarter as the Aussies went on a 17-0 run to break open the contest.

Vasiljevic swished his a three-pointer and grabbed two rebounds while playing tough defence on the Chinese guards Sanning Liao and Lanqin Wang , who were standouts.
The 190cm guard had a number of good looks and created for teammates as Australia ran away with the game in the second half.
Former Adelaide 36ers point guard Josh Giddey only played eight minutes in the opening quarter, but still filled the stats sheet with three assists, three rebounds, two points and a steal.
