A sensational second quarter display has helped the Australian Boomers to a 98-75 win against Korea in Goyang on Sunday.
With scores tied at 19-19 at quarter time, the Aussies poured on 35 second quarter points to take a match-winning 54-32 lead into the main interval.
The hosts fought back hard after half time, cutting the Boomers’ lead in half before Australia regained momentum in the final stanza to record the 23-point success.
Adelaide 36ers captain DJ Vasiljevic struggled to find his range from outside, but finished with eight points, seven assists and three rebounds in the win which books Australia a place in next year’s FIBA Asia Cup tournament in Saudi Arabia.
