Champs battle highlights Blitz schedule

Adelaide 36ers will face the reigning NBL champions and a former captain at the NBL blitz in September.

The 36ers play Tasmania JackJumpers, New Zealand Breakers and South East Melbourne Phoenix at the September 7-15 event on the Gold Coast, with a first up clash with NBL24 champion JackJumpers on Monday September 9.

Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis said the club will be using NBL Blitz to gain valuable game time into his roster.

“The pre-season this year is quite short, so it’s important all our games in the build up to NBL25 are quality,” Ninnis said.

“I’m sure all clubs are in the same pre-season mode and the Blitz is a great opportunity to work on our identity.”

Adelaide will then face former captain Mitch McCarron when the 36ers play New Zealand Breakers on September 11, before finishing off their NBL Blitz campaign against South East Melbourne Phoenix on Friday, September 13.

With five new players coming into the NBL25 roster, Ninnis said the Blitz will also be a chance to integrate new philosophies.

“Half the group are going to be new, the coaching staff have fresh ideas, it’s an exciting time,” Ninnis said.
