Adelaide 36ers will look to defend their Loggins-Bruton Cup title at this year's NBL Blitz on the Gold Coast this September.

The tournament will showcase all the new faces, player signings and arguably the most talented group of Next Stars ever seen.

New Adelaide 36ers signing Jason Cadee, who has spent the NBL off-season playing on the Gold Coast for the Rollers in the NBL1 North competition, is thrilled to play the Blitz on his home court.

"It's a grat place that everyone wants to come to, especially after the winter we have had," Cadee said the the NBL Blitz launch last week.

"From an NBL perspective, this is something everyone is looking forward to and it's going to be a great week."

Cadee, who started his NBL career at the Gold Coast Blaze in 2011, said the city has had a lot of change since he began his career as a teenager.

"The population has grown heaps since I was playing here in the NBL," Cadee said.

"I walk onto stadiums now here and there is 15 courts full of people playing, and that wasn;t happening 12-13 years ago."

Adelaide will play New Zealand Breakers on Sunday, September 17 at 12.30pm, then face Perth Wildcats on September 19 at 7pm, before finishing with a battle against Tasmania JackJumpers on Thursday, September 21 at 4.30pm

In a major win for families, the Blitz will be accessible and affordable with tickets starting from just $10 for children and $15 for adults – with each granting access to a double-header (apart from a standalone session on September 20 between Melbourne and Sydney), meaning fans can enjoy two games for the price of one.

General public tickets go on sale on Friday, July 28, on Ticketek.

“The Blitz on the Gold Coast will be the biggest and best event we’ve ever hosted in the lead-up to a season – there’s absolutely no doubt about it,” NBL CEO David Stevenson said.

“We promise to deliver world-class basketball and family-friendly entertainment, and are delighted to be staging the Blitz on the Gold Coast.”

All games will be played at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and will be live and free on Kayo Freebies.

“We want to encourage fans to engage with all the players when they’re out in the community through a range of activations and initiatives that will be announced. With Queensland and Victoria also on school holidays, it presents a fantastic opportunity for families and children to connect with the stars of NBL,” Stevenson added.

“The City of Gold Coast and the Queensland Government have been an absolute joy to work with, and we thank them for their commitment, and look forward to delivering a fantastic event with them.”
