'A very good leader and catalyst': Bruton on McCarron

Adelaide 36ers coach CJ Bruton has heaped praise on his captain Mitch McCarron after his 16 assists in the win over the Phoenix Suns.

McCarron led from the front with an inspirational performance and Bruton was delighted with his impact.

“That is normal for Mitch (McCarron). He is like CP3 (Chris Paul) for us. He is a very good leader and catalyst,” he said.

“He has been doing this for quite a while and I love what he brings to our team, and I think this year we put enough pieces around him for him to showcase that more consistently because that is what he did in the past when they won that championship in Melbourne.

“I think that going forward, I would like to see him continue to stay in that area and play these types of minutes.”

The 36ers next take on Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday (ACST).
