Adelaide 36ers are giving the opportunity for the next generation of NBL talent the chance to showcase their skills at the next level.

The club is running its annual two-day tryout camp next month where three of the four Adelaide 36ers NBL24 Development Players will be selected.

An invitation only tryout, the club will bring in South Australians or players based in the NBL1 Central competition, to the Adelaide 36ers Arena for their opportunity to make the national stage.

Sturt Sabres shooting guard and former California Baptist Lancer Keanu Rasmussen signed as the first of the 36ers’ four Development Player spots earlier this month.

Adelaide 36ers head coach CJ Bruton said the Development Player tryouts are designed to highlight and focus on the best local talent.

“We have made an extensive list of players and are going out to build the 36ers of the future,” Bruton said.

“The club has turned its focus onto identifying South Australian talent and we are going about the best ways to attract the best local players to the club.”

Adelaide 36ers owner and chairman Grant Kelley said the 36ers should be the destination for the best local talent.

“We want as many South Australians as possible to be 36ers,” Kelley said.

The two-day Development Player tryout will be at the Adelaide 36ers Arena on June 6-7.

“We have invited South Australians playing around the country to come home and put their skills up against the best players playing in the NBL1 Central,” Bruton said.

All players must be aged 24 years or younger at the start of this NBL24 season to be eligible for the tryouts.
