36ers launch Shooting Hoops Foundation
Adelaide 36ers are proud to announce the launch of the Shooting Hoops Foundation to help empower the next generation both on and off the court.
The Shooting Hoops Foundation, a non-for-profit business created by the club, aims to inspire social change through basketball and equip young people with important life skills to thrive in their life.
Club Executive Chairman Grant Kelley said the Adelaide 36ers has a commitment to the community to create social impact and build the next generation.
“We combine the pursuit of on court excellence, with an unwavering focus of inclusion, engagement and opportunities for all,” Kelley said.
Kelley said the Shooting Hoops Foundation will encompass all the club’s community endeavours, which include the Adelaide 36ers Academy, XVenture Schools Program, the High-Performance Program and School Holiday Clinics.
The Shooting Hoops Foundation will use five key pillars that are facilitated through an education lens that focusses on developing individuals to thrive.
These pillars are:
- Health and Wellbeing.
- Leadership and Resilience.
- Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics initiatives.
- Culture and Social Inclusion.
- Development and High Performance.
Kelley said the Shooting Hoops Foundation has a mission to influence positive community outcomes not only across the state, but across Australia and hopefully in the future across the globe.
“We understand the club is more than just the team which has the pursuit for success in the NBL, we can use our platform to create change and build a welcoming environment for all,” Kelley said.
